Stefan Busch received both his Bachelor and Master degree in physics from the Philipps-University Marburg. In 2010, he joined the work group of Prof. Dr. Martin Koch. His research focus lies on advancing data evaluation algorithms for terahertz time domain spectroscopy, the compact integration of THz spectrometers for industrial applications and the development of low latency, high performance instrument control software. Apart from that, he is also part of a team that currently develops novel, laser based, high-power THz sources. Mr. Busch is member of the German Physical Society (DPG) and the German Terahertzcenter (DTZ).


Christian Jansen - Partner & Developer
Christian Jansen received the Diploma degree in electrical engineering from the TU Braunschweig in 2007. During his studies, he spent six months at the Rice University, Houston, USA in the group of Prof. Mittleman studying 1D photonic crystals based on polymeric compounds, joined the Intel German Research Centre as an intern, investigating equalization schemes for multi-gigabit transmission systems and was research student at the German National Metrology Institute (PTB), performing experiments on THz antennas. In 2011, he received his PhD in electrical engineering with highest honors from the TU Braunschweig. Currently, he is leading a team of engineers and physicists developing terahertz systems for industrial applications in the group of Prof. Dr. Martin Koch at the Philipps-University Marburg.
Mr. Jansen received the IPB Patent Award 2008, the EuCAP 2009 Best Paper Award and coauthored more than 50 refereed journal and conference papers.

Maik Scheller - Partner & Developer
Maik Scheller studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig as fellow of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German National Merit Foundation) and received his Diploma degree in 2008. During his studies, he spent five months working as an intern at the Philips Research Centre in Aachen, Germany, investigating electrically pumped VECSELs (vertical external cavity surface emitting lasers). In April 2008 he joined the group of Prof. Martin Koch. Between 2009 and 2010 he spent 6 month as visiting scientist at the Optical Sciences Center, Tucson, Arizona, working on intracavity THz generation using optically pumped semiconductor lasers. In 2011, he received his PhD in physics with highest honors from the Philipps-University Marburg and joined the Optical Sciences Center, Tucson, Arizona as a postdoc.
Mr. Scheller coauthored more than 50 refereed journal and conference papers. Besides signal processing his research interests include terahertz systems and nonlinear frequency conversion.

Prof. Dr. Martin Koch - Senior Partner
Prof. Dr. Martin Koch received the Diploma and Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Marburg in 1991 and 1995, respectively. From 1995 to 1996 he was a post-doc at Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies, Holmdel, NJ. From 1996 to 1998 worked in the photonics and optoelectronics group at the University of Munich. From 1998 to 2008 he was associate professor at the TU Braunschweig in the EE department. In 2003 he spent a three month sabbatical at the University of California in Santa Barbara. Since 2009, he is professor for experimental semiconductor physics at the University of Marburg.
Prof. Koch was awarded the Kaiser-Friedrich Research Price (2003), the IPB Patent Award (2009) and is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves.
